Physical Therapist - Travel Contract
Join our travel Physical Therapist team in Montgomery, AL.
Provide acute care rehabilitation in a busy hospital setting. You will evaluate and treat patients across trauma, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, post-operative, ICU, ED, and MedSurg populations. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adaptability to varied patient needs. A structured orientation and unit support will be provided to facilitate integration into the team. Please review the minimum qualifications and assignment details below before applying. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.Active Alabama Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment.
BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
MSPT or DPT required.
Acute care experience preferred. Candidates without acute care experience will be considered if willing to be trained and coached.
Ability to manage high-volume caseloads (typical patient ratios noted as 10–12 per therapist and 15 units per day).
Comfort working with trauma, ortho, neuro, cardiac, post-op, ICU, ED, and MedSurg patients.
Adaptable, coachable, and team-oriented mindset as required by the client. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cerner/PowerChart EMR.
Experience working in Level II Trauma Center or similar high-acuity hospital settings.
Previous travel therapy experience is preferred but not required. Assignment Details Standard hours per week: 40.
Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift.
Weekend rotation: approximately once per month.
Orientation: 3 days in department. Additional 1:1 support with a Rehab Aide during initial weeks.
Floating: Caseload may include any area within the hospital including trauma, orthopedics, neuro, MedSurg, ICU, and ED.
