Order and Supply Chain Associate
About the Role
SEA Wire and Cable is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Order and Supply Chain Associate to support our order processing and administrative operations. This role is instrumental in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing customer orders. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full order lifecycle from sales release through shipment
- Process and manage customer orders, including changes, cancellations, and updates with high accuracy
- Handle complex orders, exceptions, and non-standard situations
- Validate orders against inventory, lead times, pricing, and customer requirements
- Monitor and resolve order holds (credit, inventory, quality, etc.) and manage RMAs/credits
- Analyze inventory availability vs. demand; identify risks, shortages, and discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve order issues (delays, discrepancies, entry errors, shipping issues)
- Escalate high-impact issues with recommended solutions and root cause insights
- Serve as a central point of contact across Sales, Warehouse, and Purchasing teams
- Communicate order status, constraints, and expectations to stakeholders and customers
- Support process improvement and team development through training, mentorship, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of order entry systems and inventory management
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Professional written communication skills (especially email)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments
- Understanding of the order lifecycle, inventory control, and issue escalation
- Ability to mentor others and take ownership of resolutions
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–5 years of Order Management or Supply Chain experience
- Experience in wire & cable, manufacturing, or distribution
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Rubicon) and purchasing workflows
- Experience handling large or complex orders
- Knowledge of export regulations (ITAR/EAR)
This position may involve light physical activity such as filing, bending, and lifting office materials or products up to 20 lbs. You should be comfortable using standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones.
