Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Specialist to support the US Army at Redstone Arsenal . This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Lead and support the development and implementation of MBSE strategies and toolsets for HEL systems to align with DoD and Industry standards/best practices for the entire HEL system, including laser subsystem, beam control subsystem, power subsystem, thermal subsystem, and fire control subsystem.
• Develop and maintain models, e.g., SysML, of HEL system requirements and specifications, ensuring traceability and verifiability.
• Integrate multi-domain system functional models for HEL systems using MBSE principles.
• Develop and implement model-based qualification schemas to support acquisition strategies for HEL systems.
• Support the development and integration of non-SE toolsets into an MBSE environment, including HELCoMES, MS Office, etc.
• Participate in program and design reviews, technical meetings, and working groups to provide MBSE expertise for HEL systems.
• Provide direct support for the assessment of HEL system models and other related projects.
• Develop and analyze model-based metrics to support program milestone reviews and assess SE rigor for HEL systems.
• Conduct training and develop training materials to facilitate the adoption and utilization of MBSE within the organization, specifically for HEL systems.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including program integrators, logisticians, and other engineering disciplines, to apply the system engineering process to respective HEL programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in MBSE, including the use of SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw, and Teamwork Cloud.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and lifecycle development.
• Proficiency in digital engineering toolsets and integration strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience in developing and delivering MBSE training.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in developing and maintaining system functional and logical models for HEL systems.
• Experience with qualification processes.
• Familiarity with digital engineering integration strategies and non-SE toolsets.
• Specific experience with High Energy Laser systems and related technologies.
