5+ Years of Commercial Carpentry Experience Required

CG Jones Construction is a growing commercial general contractor specializing in site development, commercial building construction, underground utilities, and concrete construction. Our projects are primarily located throughout Northwest Alabama , with an expanding presence in Northeast Mississippi and Southern Tennessee .

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter Foreman to lead field crews on commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in producing quality work, keeping projects on schedule, and developing a strong, safety-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise commercial carpentry crews on active construction projects
• Coordinate daily work activities with superintendents and project managers
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings
• Layout and construct building components according to project plans and specifications
• Perform and oversee concrete formwork, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, framing, blocking, doors, hardware, and miscellaneous carpentry work
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards
• Maintain project schedules and coordinate material deliveries
• Conduct daily safety meetings and equipment inspections
• Train, mentor, and develop carpenters and laborers
• Maintain accurate daily reports and communicate project progress to management

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience
• Previous experience leading a commercial carpentry crew
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and sequencing
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with concrete formwork, framing, layout, and finish carpentry
• Ability to operate common construction equipment and power tools
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license required
• OSHA training is a plus
