General Ledger Specialist POST NUMBER: 302207
Position Summary
The General Ledger Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing account reconciliations for a credit union. This role supports month-end close, researches discrepancies, and ensures transactions are recorded accurately and timely. This position is fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly general ledger and account reconciliations.
- Research and resolve discrepancies and outstanding items.
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Review transactions for accuracy and proper account classification.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting-related issues.
Qualifications
- 2 years of accounting, general ledger, or reconciliation experience.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Credit union, banking, or financial services experience preferred.
