Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109 (New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN Contract)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (15-bed unit)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30); 36 or 48 hours/week options
• Weekend Requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• Scrubs: Provided
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2090-$2140
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

RN Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience
• Active NM or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• Ability to float to similar clinical units
• Patient ratio: 1:2

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and antepartum care
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
• Utilize external fetal monitoring (EFM) and maintain central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services)
• Accurately document patient care in electronic health records
• Participate in unit orientation and complete required training modules onsite
