Production Manager / Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Personnel & Leadership

• Supervise production staff; set performance standards and deliver training on safety, ISO procedures, and internal policies .
• Lead by example on the shop floor; manage performance, resolve conflicts, and participate in second-round interviews.
• Foster a results-driven culture through active coaching and leadership .

Operations & Scheduling

• Manage all phases of production execution , ensuring on-time delivery and coordination across departments.
• Update schedules based on new or existing sales orders ; balance capacity with delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales to meet customer requirements.
• Track performance via daily/weekly/monthly reports and KPI dashboards .

Technical & Process Oversight

• Interpret engineering drawings , BOMs , and process flows for machining, heat treatment, and finishing.
• Ensure material planning aligns with specs and production deadlines.
• Oversee creation and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) .
• Support quoting with input on time, material, and scheduling constraints .

Inventory & Resource Planning

• Plan for labor, materials, and process needs per job.
• Coordinate with purchasing to maintain optimal inventory and address material shortages .
• Ensure efficient resource utilization for smooth workflow and delivery.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce shop safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
• Address safety issues in real time; ensure all parts meet quality and compliance standards .

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• 5+ years of experience in production management or operations leadership
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and BOMs
• Knowledge of precision manufacturing materials and processes (machining, heat treat, finishing)
• Experience in ISO-certified environments
• Proficient in production reporting, metrics tracking, and documentation
• Strong focus on continuous improvement and efficiency optimization
• Comfortable with cross-functional coordination in fast-paced manufacturing settings
• On-site role ; must be present on the production floor daily
