Job Summary:
B&A is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical geospatial applications, collaborate closely with NGA stakeholders, and contribute to transformative cloud-based modernization initiatives that benefit mission partners and disadvantaged users globally.
Responsibilities:

  • Ability to design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using GitLab CI
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with OpenShift
  • Proficiency in scripting languages
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Expertise in GitLab for managing code versions and collaboration.
  • Effective communication and teamwork to bridge the gap between development and operations teams.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to respond to monitoring tools results, identify issues, and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Maintain and create Docker images used by program microservices.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in relevant roles.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in cloud-native application development , preferably using OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar platforms .
  • Proficiency in Java, Python , and modern software development frameworks.
  • Background in microservices architecture and integration of GOTS/COTS components.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of geospatial data processing, raster formats, or geospatial production workflows (desired but not required).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate within a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.

  • Active Secret clearance, eligibility to apply for TS/SCI
