Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year A bit about us: We are seeking an experienced, dynamic attorney with at least 5 years of focused experience in matrimonial/family law and a strong background in litigation. You will handle contested divorces, custody and support disputes, property distribution matters, enforcement/modification of judgments, and related family law proceedings. - Lead and manage all phases of matrimonial/family law litigation: drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement negotiations, courtroom appearances, trials, and appellate work.
- Counsel clients on complex issues such as asset division, spousal maintenance, child support, custody and visitation, and enforcement/modification of orders.
- Prepare and negotiate prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, separation agreements, and post-judgment amendments.
- Conduct legal research and keep abreast of statutes, precedents, and evolving legal trends in family law.
- Provide empathetic yet pragmatic guidance to clients, maintain regular communication, manage client expectations, and preserve client confidence through difficult transitions.
- Mentor more junior attorneys and staff where appropriate, providing oversight, feedback, and training.
- Participate in business development, client outreach, and community engagement to help grow the practice.
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent) and admission to the relevant state bar.
- Minimum of 5 years’ practice focused on matrimonial/family law, with a substantial litigation record.
- Demonstrated courtroom experience: trials, hearings, contested motions, and evidentiary proceedings.
- Strong drafting and research skills, with ability to craft persuasive briefs, motions, and legal written argument.
- Excellent negotiation and advocacy capabilities.
- Emotional intelligence, patience, and strong client-management skills, especially under pressure.
- Confidence handling high emotional stakes and sensitive client circumstances.
- Capacity to work autonomously, and as part of a collaborative team.
