: We are seeking a Materials Management Technician to join our team at Medplex Outpatient Surgery Center in Birmingham, AL. As a Materials Management Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient procurement, distribution, and management of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring that our healthcare facility operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure and maintain an inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels, reorder supplies as needed, and manage vendor relationships.
- Inspect incoming supplies for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Distribute supplies to appropriate departments, ensuring timely availability.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, distribution, and consumption.
- Assist in managing the supply chain process to reduce waste and control costs.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to meet supply needs while adhering to budget guidelines.

Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in materials management or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in materials management or supply chain in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and their applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for inventory management.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
