Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate accounts payable records, ensuring that all invoices and payments are processed efficiently and in compliance with company procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Review, match, and verify accuracy of invoices against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Ensure all invoices are properly documented and approved before payment processing.
- Review invoice detail and verify proper account coding.
- Post invoices accurately into the computer system and apply stamp showing “paid” with date posted.
- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries, providing clarification and resolving issues.
- Prepare accounts payable checks and refund checks in accordance with established procedures.
- Investigate and resolve vendor statement discrepancies through research and communication.
- Organize and file paid and unpaid invoices and vendor statements.
- Assist with monthly financial closing processes.
- Perform any additional tasks or special projects as assigned by management.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds (or similar accounting software) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
