Opportunity:

Job Details:
• Work every other weekend (EOW) schedule
• Float to like units as needed
• Possible charge nurse responsibilities when required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• 30-bed unit with regular medical surgical patients
• 30-minute lunch break required - no skipped meals permitted
• Must adhere to strict call-in policy
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Alabama nursing license required
• Required certifications: BLS via AHA, Fit Test
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, heparin administration, insulin management, PCA pumps, surgical drains, oxygen administration
• Must have experience with colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, and charting systems
• Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed
• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed
• Orientation includes specialty-specific modules averaging 8 hours

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. The organization maintains strict policies regarding meal breaks and attendance to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
