CNC Machinist

This position is located On-site in our Bayou La Batre, AL location.

Birdon America, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinists to join our growing team at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama shipyard. This is a great opportunity for you to provide your knowledge and skills to a growing company in building a new Coast Guard vessel.

• Excellent math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to operate CNC burn table machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to operate equipment safely and comply with all safety standards.
• Demonstrates strong work ethic.
• Demonstrates consistency in quality of work with minimal to no discrepancies.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry as a CNC burn table operator.
• Must be able to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
• Basic understanding of computer programming and AutoCAD and nesting of cut parts.
• Perform basic maintenance on CNC Plasma table and torches.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
