- Our client is a well-established manufacturer of specialty building materials serving commercial and industrial construction markets across North America. Their products support critical building performance and protection requirements, and are delivered through close collaboration with designers, consultants, and authorized installation partners. - They are seeking an Outside Sales Representative to support and grow their commercial roofing business. The Outside Sales Representative role is consultative and design-oriented, working closely with roofing consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors to support system-based solutions for complex projects. The position combines technical learning, relationship development, and active field engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with roofing consultants, designers, architects, contractors, and owners to support project development and specifications.
- Serve as a technical resource throughout the sales process, assisting with system selection, design considerations, approvals, and constructability discussions.
- Identify and pursue project opportunities, supporting large-scale bids and negotiated work in collaboration with internal teams.
- Deliver consultative, value-based solutions focused on long-term performance, asset protection, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate closely with internal technical, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate pricing, documentation, and project execution.
- Represent the organization at job sites, design meetings, and industry events across the region.
- Maintain opportunity tracking, forecasting, and customer documentation through CRM systems.
- Share field intelligence on customer needs, competitive activity, and product performance to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- BS Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or Registered Roof Observer Certification
- 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing, building envelope systems, or specialty construction products, with a technical or design-oriented background
- Prior exposure to specification-driven sales involving consultants, architects, or engineers.
- Consultative mindset with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Comfortable in a field-based role with regional travel that includes day and overnight trips
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k - 100k/year range plus commission and performance-based bonus
