Field Operations Manager
Field Operations Manager – Asphalt & Sitework
Lead people. Build teams. Deliver quality.
We are looking for an Operations Manager to oversee our asphalt paving and sitework crews. This position is responsible for leading employees, maintaining productivity, ensuring quality workmanship, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
The ideal candidate understands that great leadership starts with understanding the work. While previous asphalt or construction experience is a plus, it is not required. We are willing to invest in the right manager who has proven leadership experience, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn our business from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship.
- Coach employees through regular feedback, performance evaluations, and on-the-job development.
- Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and job performance.
- Work with foremen and crew leaders to solve problems and keep projects on schedule.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure company policies and safety procedures are followed.
- Assist with employee development, hiring, and training.
- Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and company leadership.
- Visit job sites regularly to observe operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and support crews.
Qualifications
- Previous management or supervisory experience is required.
- Construction, paving, or heavy equipment experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to coach employees, address performance issues, and build trust with crews.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between job sites.
