The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced and client-focused Tax Manager to join our growing tax team. In this role, you'll oversee complex tax engagements, guide and mentor team members, and build meaningful relationships with clients across a variety of industries.

What You'll Do

  • Review complex tax returns (corporate, individual, and partnership)
  • Conduct technical tax research and provide client-specific recommendations
  • Lead client engagements and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships grounded in trust and responsiveness
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, contributing to their growth and development
  • Facilitate internal training sessions and share technical knowledge with the team
  • Collaborate with peers and partners to support firm initiatives and client success

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience preparing and reviewing complex business and/or personal tax returns
  • Experience across a variety of industries preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset
  • MBA or MAcc is a plus but not required
  • Located near a BMSS Birmingham-area office
