A Day in the Field
Sun up to wrap-up, you’ll be outdoors shaping critical underground systems that keep Mobile running. You’ll prepare trench lines, set pipe with precision grade, and make sure every connection is built to last. You’ll partner closely with operators and crew members to deliver safe, on-schedule results without compromising quality.
What You’ll Tackle
- Install and service underground piping systems for drainage, sewer, and potable water.
- Excavate trenches and ready the work area for accurate pipe placement.
- Set line and grade to specification, ensuring proper alignment during installation.
- Coordinate with equipment operators and other construction pros to hit project milestones.
- Inspect completed work to confirm performance and regulatory compliance.
- Keep the site safe, orderly, and in line with safety protocols at all times.
- Support the growth of junior team members and apprentices through on-the-job guidance.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade/vocational training is beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience as a pipelayer or related construction role.
- Hands-on knowledge of pipe materials, installation methods, and best practices.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
- Physical endurance and strength to handle heavy materials and perform demanding tasks.
- Sharp attention to detail with pride in craftsmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a cohesive crew.
