A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to fill a temp-to-hire position with an immediate start. This role focuses on equine and veterinary animal compounding, supporting a team that processes over 200 prescriptions daily. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, a commitment to quality care for animal patients, and a passion for veterinary pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of 3–4 pharmacy technicians.
• Verify prescriptions and manage daily pharmacy workflow.
• Review and maintain 25–30 regularly reordered formularies.
• Ensure adherence to pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient operations.
• Assist with inventory and operational oversight as needed.
• Provide leadership focused on exceptional animal patient care.

Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist license (state requirements apply).
• Experience specifically in equine or veterinary/animal compounding; human compounding experience alone is not sufficient.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent work ethic with a proactive approach.
• Quick learner who adapts well in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following established processes and delivering high-quality care.

Pharmacy Overview:This veterinary compounding pharmacy specializes primarily in non-sterile compounding with some sterile prescriptions. The current technology includes PK Software for compounding order entry and QuickBooks Online for invoicing, with a transition to Pharmetica planned. The pharmacist team consists of four members, each supervising multiple technicians.
