Substance Use Manager Full-Time:40 hours Monday-Thursday; 7:30am-5:30pm; Friday; 8:00am-12:00pm - Tuscaloosa, AL - ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Competencies: Demonstrated ability to relate well with families, consumers, and agencies desired. Must possess effective understanding of treatment practices used with substance use disorders; experience with substance use disorder level of care assessments and treatment preferred. Must possess excellent ability to make clinical judgments in emergency situations. Must be able to work within the Organization to serve the needs of consumers. Must possess excellent ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks. Must possess excellent ability to comprehend and maintain program standards. Must be able to effectively manage, organize and schedule staff to ensure a successful outpatient/residential program and services. Must be knowledgeable of cultural diversity. Will be required to either have or able to obtain either LICSW/LPC licensure or ADC certification. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Excellent reasoning and decision-making skills required. Excellent counseling and crisis intervention skills required. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Supervise clinical staff in the SU Departments. Ensure that treatment services are being performed in a uniform manner across all sites, maximizing utilization of the services offered. Ensure that documentation at all SUsites is completed according to ADMH and Medicaid standards and Organization policy. Ensure implementation of any new treatment programs approved by the Clinical Director. Ensure appropriate consumer placement in the SU services continuum. Maintain contact with network of referral sources, provide monthly progress reports to referral sources and remain in contact with consumers on all waiting lists. Inform referral sources/consumers of any additional information needed to determine consumer eligibility for SU services and ensure that information is received in a timely manner. Ensure appropriate and adequate treatment supplies are available and submit purchase requisition receipts in a timely manner. Maintain required electronic data is submitted to ADMH through the ASAIS system. Attend all required IRBH and Substance Use trainings and facilitate staff meetings according to ADMH standards and IRBH policy. Schedule staff to provide services and monitor their ability to lead group and provide individual therapy. Monitor staff caseloads for individual therapy and group counseling, ensuring that services are being provided as scheduled, documented according to policy, and that each staff member meets or exceeds their productivity expectation. Facilitates training through outreach programs and implements outreach programs on an as needed basis Responsible for overall outreach program throughout the three counties served, Tuscaloosa, Bibb & Pickens. Provide consultation and education to community agencies and the general public as needed. Represent the Organization in an accurate and professional manner. Ensure accurate documentation of billable time and service reports in a timely manner. Maintain and support open communication with supervisor. Devote 40 hours per week to the completion of duties as outlined in the job description. More than 40 hours of work per week may be required to meet job responsibilities and deadlines. Work with Human Resources on all staffing and employee disciplinary issues. Monitor absenteeism or performance problems and implement disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR. Ensure that all assigned duties are implemented according to IRBH policies and procedures. Ensure that all assigned duties are implemented according to Department of Mental Health and Medicaid standards. Ensure all safety, fire prevention, and health measures are followed while on duty. Maintain communication and awareness of current events by reading memos, e-mails, bulletin boards, and communication logs and responding in a timely manner. Work independently and/or with teams to complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner with minimum supervision. Support Organizational Code of Conduct, Standards Compliance, HIPAA and Security Programs by ensuring job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner, assessing the work area for non-compliance and notifying the supervisor, manager, Executive Director or designee as appropriate, and maintaining training requirements and understanding that training is a required condition of employment. Maintain the confidential nature of all consumer and Organization related activities by not divulging information outside the facility, discussing information within the facility on a need-to-know basis, acknowledging policy annually by signing confidentiality statement, and by referring media and general inquiries to the Executive Director. Adhere to attendance and punctuality policy by allowing adequate time to arrive, clock-in and assume responsibilities at designated time, adhering to meal and break times and making timely requests for time off and in accordance with policy. Comply with all standards related to safety and health by maintaining current TB Test, CPR/First Aid, CPI, and by reporting infections and on-the-job injuries in accordance with policy. Identify opportunities for improving the quality of services provided by the department and the organization. Complete QI Reports, Purchase Requisitions and other program paperwork as required for all programs. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Executive Director. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in a mental health discipline required. Two years post master's experience working in a mental health setting required. LICSW/LPC licensure or ADC certification required or the ability to receive such certification within the timeframe required by ADMH. LICSW or LPC preferred. Current Alabama driver's license and good driving record as defined by Indian Rivers' policy. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English. Working Conditions: Works in general office environment and in residential facilities; may require long hours. Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact. Physical capability to use and operate office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, computer, copier, multi-line phone and fax. Some risk involved in the event of aggressive/out-of-control consumers. Must possess a valid Alabama driver's license.
