Engineering Designer (All Levels)

POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for completion of design tasks and projects from concept to implementation in production. This will include all related design activities including calculations, communications, models/drawings, programs, and bill of material releases.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Completes design tasks and project assignments which support production activities.
- Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time on each task.
- Creates designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
- Ensures compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations.
- Completes or initiates controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
- Completes technical drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
- Provides Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
- Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- University Degree or Technical Diploma in engineering or related field
- 1+ years of experience in engineering or a related field
- Manufacturing and assembly experience is an asset
- Strong CAD/Unigraphics experience
- Strong teamwork, problem solving and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Travel (less than 5%)
