Accounting Support Specialist (Hybrid)
Title: Accounting Support Specialist (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Identify, post, and reconcile incoming cash payments from multiple bank accounts to customer trade receivable balances and other accounts as applicable,
- Prepare cash posting packages for management review and approval. Archive all cash posting packages to Sharepoint to enable company-wide access,
- Partner with customers, billers, and other KBR departments to identify incoming payments where remittance detail is lacking,
- Track receipts per bank/per day to verify all cash is posted and to support related SOX testing of cash receipts,
- Complete limited amount of account reconciliations in support of month end closing processes,
- Under direct supervision, works within the Shared Services A/R team to complete assigned tasks that may require problem recognition/solving skills.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's degree preferred - high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience.
- Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.
- Familiarity with bank reporting practices is preferred but not required.
- Basic/Intermediate Excel skills are required, including use of pivot tables and certain logical and mathematical formulas.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, analysis, and ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with other team members is a must.
The ideal candidate for this position will be task oriented and self-motivated, a critical thinker, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
