What We Look For In a PANCE Tutor

• Advanced Test Mastery: Deep knowledge of PANCE content areas including cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, neurological, endocrine, reproductive, renal, hematologic, dermatologic, EENT, infectious disease, and psychiatric systems. Ability to explain clinical presentation patterns, diagnostic workup selection, and treatment protocols while preparing physician assistant graduates for initial certification and clinical practice.
• Strategic Test‑Taking & Problem‑Solving: Skilled at teaching clinical vignette analysis, differential diagnosis construction, and treatment selection strategies for PANCE. Guides students through interpreting patient histories and physical findings, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, selecting first‑line treatments, and recognizing emergency presentations. Emphasizes system‑based review and high‑yield clinical associations for the most frequently tested conditions and their management.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with PANCE content blueprint and common challenges such as cardiovascular and pulmonary system complexity, pharmacology breadth, and distinguishing similar clinical presentations. Adapts instruction using NCCPA practice examinations, system‑based review materials, and clinical case analysis to support physician assistant graduates preparing for initial PANCE certification.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
