The Youth Activities Worker provides direct supervision and leadership for children in after-school and/or summer programs. This position reflects PCI’s core values of Perseverance, Opportunity, Accountability, Respect, Culture, and Honesty . Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children of various ages
- Supervise and participate in indoor and outdoor activities (games, arts & crafts, sports, field trips, cultural activities)
- Assist with planning and implementing daily and weekly activities
- Maintain accurate records and enforce program policies
- Communicate concerns to supervisors and collaborate with staff
- Support behavior management and positive engagement
- High school diploma or equivalent required or must be a currently enrolled high school student or be enrolled in a GED program.
- Must have six (6) months of full-time employment experience working with young children.
- Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
- Must possess and maintain First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must be eighteen (18) years old or older.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
