JOB SUMMARY:
A teller’s primary job is to provide excellent service to our customers & process all banking transactions with efficiency and accuracy, while following all bank policies and procedures. A teller will have extensive contact with customers and the public, and is expected to conduct all interactions in a professional manner that will enhance the overall reputation and image of the bank.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the first point of contact with customers, greet customer in a friendly and professional manner.
- Process deposits, withdrawals and transfer requests for checking and savings accounts;
- Cash checks for customers and non-customers;
- Process loan payments;
- Process change orders and currency exchanges
- Prepare and verify cashier’s checks
- Run internal General Ledger transactions as needed
- Redeem savings bonds;
- Process night and mail deposits each day;
- Balance cash drawers & vault daily with accuracy and minimal errors;
- Provide customers with information on additional bank products and services;
- Complete Compliance and Security training as needed;
- Assist customers with general banking questions and account specific questions; assist with customer service requests as needed
- Perform administrative duties such as answering internal and external phone calls, managing emails, & keeping a clean and organized workspace, teller drawer and teller line;
- Prepare and Receive Shipments as needed;
- Identify transaction mistakes when debits and credits do not balance;
- Follow all bank policies and procedures ;
- Promote an inviting atmosphere for our customers and employees by having a good attitude, professional appearance and being a team player;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- GED/High School Diploma
- Minimum of 6 months of Cash Handling Experience and Customer Service Experience preferred.
- Ability to operate a calculator, computer, and other office equipment accurately and quickly.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy skills required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and be honest.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Drive vehicle for bank business.
