Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols in Birmingham, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, addressing incidents as they arise, and delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor for unusual activity and/or security-related hazards, reporting observations to the appropriate personnel.
- Control access to the location by verifying identification and/or credentials as required.
- Complete detailed and accurate reports documenting incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
- Collaborate with public transportation staff and/or law enforcement as necessary to support security-related objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
- Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Possession of an armed guard card or license is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
