A mail order pharmacy in Alabama is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee regulatory compliance and daily operations. This role requires an active pharmacist license in both Illinois and Alabama, as PIC responsibilities will be governed by these licenses. This is a contract position with an expected commitment of approximately 8 hours per week, offering flexible scheduling to accommodate all PIC duties effectively.

Location:

• Rainsville, Alabama (mail order pharmacy)

Schedule:

• Approximately 8 hours per week
• Flexible hours as long as all PIC responsibilities are met

Required Licensure:

• Active pharmacist licenses in Illinois and Alabama (mandatory)
• Additional licenses in states such as Tennessee or Georgia are a plus but not required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Oversee and maintain pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs
• Provide oversight for medication dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and daily workflow in mail order fulfillment
• Manage controlled substance records and DEA compliance, including recordkeeping and reporting
• Supervise pharmacy personnel and support their roles in mail order operations
• Prepare for and coordinate audits, inspections, and corrective action plans
• Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipping of medications
• Maintain documentation for Illinois PIC compliance requirements
• Act as primary liaison for state boards, accrediting bodies, and auditors
• Review and approve updates to SOPs and compliance documentation

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or pharmacy leadership role
• Sound knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations and regulatory standards
• Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance
