Athletic Field Construction Estimator

The Athletic Field Construction Estimator is responsible for analyzing project documents and preparing detailed cost estimates for natural and synthetic turf sports field construction projects. This role involves performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting and reviewing subcontractor bids, assembling comprehensive project proposals, and collaborating closely with project managers and internal teams. Strong construction knowledge, analytical ability, and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, geotechnical reports, and all project documents to understand scope and requirements.

• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment.

• Solicit, review, and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineering, operations, and sales to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

• Develop preliminary project schedules based on labor and production rates.

• Maintain project costing records and prepare cost variance summaries as needed.

• Conduct site visits to gather measurements, assess project requirements, and meet with clients or project teams.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and vendors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required .

• Proficiency with estimating and construction software such as Stack, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, etc.

• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and safety codes. Experience with natural and synthetic turf systems and drainage is preferred.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to review project documents and perform detailed calculations.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
