Portioning Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Bachoco USA i s seeking a Portioning Supervisor on the 2nd Shift for our Albertville, AL location.

Primary Responsibility: The Portioning Supervisor reports to the Production Superintendent and is responsible for ensuring that production on assigned line is run in an efficient and safe manner to ensure production of first quality product to meet customer needs and specifications.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a team of hourly hand portioners.
  • Responsible for safety, performance, yields, staffing, time and attendance, training, and corrective actions for assigned shift.
  • Follows and enforces company's policies & procedures, Food Safety Guidelines and GMP procedures.
  • Works with other departments on assigned shift to ensure all customer specifications and USDA requirements are met.
  • Completes daily reporting for shift including employee time edits.
  • Maximizes yields and throughputs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Participates in interviews for open positions.
  • Ensures that safety and job specific training are conducted on assigned shift.
  • Ensures that assigned shift is prepared for customer and BRC audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

  • Experience in portioning or Portioning operations
  • Bi-lingual a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred, or two to three years of relevant experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
