This role requires a thorough understanding of structural analysis methods, qualification and certification processes, applicable military and civilian design standards, and Statements of Work (SOWs). Candidates with Army aviation or ground vehicle structural engineering experience are strongly preferred, though Navy or Air Force structural engineering experience is also acceptable. • Perform structural analysis, including static, dynamic, fatigue, and fracture assessments for aerospace or ground vehicle platforms.
  • Develop, review, and manage SOWs and engineering deliverables to ensure clarity and alignment with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support structural qualification, certification, and testing efforts.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to integrate structural designs with broader platform requirements.
  • Support MBSE initiatives and FEA modeling efforts to enhance program efficiency and analytical fidelity.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable structural standards, regulations, and policies (e.g., MIL-HDBK-5/MMPDS, MIL-STD-1530, FAR/JAR).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government and industry partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in structural engineering within a defense or aerospace acquisition environment (Army preferred; Navy or Air Force acceptable)
  • Strong technical knowledge in structural analysis, materials, fatigue/fracture mechanics, and/or composite structures
  • Thorough understanding of structural qualification and certification processes, testing methodologies, and SOW development
  • Proven leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with FEA tools (e.g., NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS) and MBSE methodologies
  • Familiarity with Army aviation or ground vehicle structural standards and acquisition processes
