Accounting and Finance (Dothan)
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting and Finance Assistant Manager to join our client's team in an interim capacity. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive exposure to all accounting and finance functions, with the expectation of transitioning into the Manager role within two years. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to lead financial operations while supporting strategic initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions across the organization.
- Perform daily accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and troubleshooting issues.
- Manage cash, including disbursements, credit cards, and foreign exchange transactions; determine cash requirements and maintain cash flow.
- Execute month-end closing activities and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial projects as assigned.
- Support annual financial audits by liaising with auditors, corporate teams, and internal staff.
- Collaborate with external tax preparation firms and corporate controlling for annual budgeting and financial planning.
- Review and improve accounting processes for efficiency and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting/finance, including manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with BaaN and willingness to transition to SAP.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and general understanding of corporate tax.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Demonstrates integrity, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels.
