Staff Systems Engineer

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Staff Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

Staff Systems Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. In this role the candidate will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, hardware fault analysis, and hardware to software interface definition, and testing as part of the IDT product team.

Additional work the role may perform includes:

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

Education Requirements:

BS Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 8 years of experience; or 6 years of experience with Masters degree

Experience Requirements:

• Prior experience developing Test Plans and Test Procedures for DoD programs
• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
• Prior experience working using DOORS
• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo

Special Skills Desired:

• Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
• Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
• Prior experience as a Product Owner
• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
• Familiar with Software Containerization and Orchestration
• Familiar with DevSecOps • Prior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
• Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
• Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464
• Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2
• Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344
