Programs Coordinator
Position Overview
The Programs Coordinator plays a critical leadership role in driving program growth, community engagement, and revenue generation at High Point Climbing And Fitness: Birmingham.
This position is responsible for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of all programming for youth and adults, including youth camps, classes, clinics, leagues, competitions, and special events.
This role is both strategic and hands-on—requiring strong organizational ability, leadership, and a proactive approach to building participation, increasing membership conversion, and strengthening community presence.
The Programs Coordinator is expected to operate as a business driver within the facility, owning program performance, outreach efforts, and overall program success.
Key Responsibilities
Programs, Events & Leagues
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all facility programs including youth camps, classes, clinics, leagues, yoga, competitions, and special events
- Recruit, train, and lead program staff while maintaining high execution standards
- Manage and grow the Interscholastic Climbing League (High School Climbing League)
- Develop and maintain adult programming and leagues year-round
- Collaborate with coaching staff to support youth clubs and team pipeline growth
- Ensure programs are structured, staffed, and executed at a high level
Performance & Revenue Ownership
- Track and report program participation, revenue, and performance metrics
- Drive membership conversion through program participation
Marketing, Outreach & Community Engagement
- Assist with and carry out marketing efforts
- Manage facility social media presence
- Represent High Point at community events and expos
- Promote programs, memberships, and events
Corporate & Community Partnerships
- Develop corporate membership relationships
- Conduct outreach and presentations
- Build relationships with schools and community organizations
Operations & Facility Support
- Support daily facility operations
- Collaborate with route setting and operations teams for successful programs
- Contribute to facility strategy and planning
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with General Manager and department leads
- Foster a strong, inclusive, and community-driven culture
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with marketing and outreach
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and solutions-oriented
- Climbing or fitness industry experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building community partnerships
- Experience growing youth or league programs
- Strong sales mindset
Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Evening and weekend availability
- Ability to work in a foot high-traffic environment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Comfortable climbing and moving dynamically
