Entry Level Tax Associate (Remote)

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Entry Level Tax Associate to join our team and support our tax compliance, preparation, and filing activities. In this role, you will assist with preparing tax returns, conducting research, maintaining records, and supporting senior tax professionals with various client and internal tax matters. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
• Gather, organize, and review client financial records and tax documents.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings before submission.
• Assist with extensions, estimated tax payments, and filing deadlines.
• Conduct basic tax research using online tools and resources (IRS publications, tax databases, etc.).
• Maintain organized digital tax files and workpapers for clients and internal records.
• Track filing deadlines, client communications, and project statuses.
• Communicate with clients to request missing information or clarify tax documents.
• Provide basic answers to client tax questions under the guidance of senior tax members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in tax, accounting, or finance is preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be comfortable working with tax preparation software (UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, or similar).
• Basic understanding of tax concepts (W-2, 1099, deductions, credits, filing statuses) is preferred but not required.
• Impeccable accuracy with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain tax concepts simply.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, ask questions when needed, and take ownership of tasks.
• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client information.
