Sanitation II

Position Summary:
Keep all production and receiving areas clean by cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, and maintaining the areas in accordance with approved quality and sanitiation procedures. To maintain equipment and comply with food safety regulations to provide safe quality product to our customers. Responsible for following all Food Safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criterion including current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the FSMA and associated Preventative Controls.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) including all tasks, record keeping within the established frequencies.
- Ensure that chemical concentration of solutions, temperatures of solution, and flow rates are documented per the established frequency. Ensure that the proper chemical is dispensed in the correct amount for specific cleaning tasks. Ensure that the proper chemical is dispensed in the correct amount for specific cleaning tasks.
- Inspect food processing equipment after cleaning. A high attention to detail is required. Be hands-on and have the ability to complete all cleaning tasks in a timely manner. Be able to manage multiple taks at once. Complete all required paperwork, accurately and timely.
- Disassembling and re-assembling equipment, power washing, sanitizing, scrubbing on hands and knees, lifting, carrying, and pushing containers. Complete and attach UMI tags on equipment, as needed.
- Train new hires and/or transfers. Communicate problems or concerns with appropriate personnel. Must be forklift or hand lift trained to transport materials and/or chemicals as needed.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- 2+ years sanitation experience
- Prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must possess good reading and math skills to accurately perform the requirements of the job
- Mechanical aptitude, good hand-eye coordination is required
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Complete training and have working knowledge of sanitation responsibilities for all production lines.

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements. In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:
- Work outside and/or in adverse temperatures which could include extreme heat, cold, and humidity;
- Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
- Be required to work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet.
