Protestant Religious Education Coordinator

The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for Protestant Religious Education Coordinator (PREC) at Maxwell AFB, AL (Fiscal Year 2026):

1. Purpose: The PREC will execute the Protestant Worship Community's (PWC) religious education vision under the guidance of the Lead Protestant Chaplain (LPC) and Chaplain Corps Leadership Team (CLT).
2. Responsibilities: The PREC will plan, coordinate, and execute Protestant religious education programs for all age groups (1 year to adult). Duties include teaching, organizing events, recruiting/training volunteers, managing curriculum, overseeing childcare volunteers, and ensuring compliance with Air Force policies and standards.
3. Work Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week (80 hours/month), including Sundays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Additional hours may be required during peak seasons (e.g., Easter, Christmas, Vacation Bible School). Office hours and schedules must be approved by the LPC.
4. General Duties:
   • Undergo background checks and installation records checks.
   • Adhere to the LPC’s religious organization requirements.
   • Supervise volunteers, maintain identification badges, and report volunteer hours.
   • Plan and execute annual calendars, events, and programs.
   • Submit facility requests, update staff meeting slides, and attend PAC meetings.
   • Recommend curriculum and resources for RE programs.
   • Coordinate Vacation Bible School and special events.
   • Comply with Air Force policies on safety, security, and resource management.
5. Specific Duties:
   • Manage RE programs, sacraments, Bible studies, and special events.
   • Train and manage volunteers for RE activities.
   • Use software tools like Microsoft Office, Canva, and Eventbrite.
   • Maintain electronic records of curriculum and submit after-action reports for events.
   • Ensure proper use of Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund (CTOF) and submit fund requests.
6. Compliance Requirements:
   • Follow Air Force security, safety, and traffic regulations.
   • Obtain base identification and vehicle passes for personnel.
   • Ensure compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) protocols.
   • Participate in security education and training programs.
   • Adhere to policies on cellular phone use, firearms, and illegal weapons.
7. Conflict of Interest: Relatives of personnel in the supervisory chain or those with potential conflicts of interest (e.g., family members of chaplains or DoD employees) are ineligible for this position.
8. Additional Notes:
   • The coordinator is responsible for taxes, licenses, and compliance with applicable laws.
   • Government will provide workspace and equipment for contract-related tasks.
