Step into a purpose-driven role as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Long-Term Care, where every shift is an opportunity to deliver dignified, person-centered care and to shape the daily lives of residents who entrust you with their comfort and safety. In Decatur, Alabama—the River City renowned for southern hospitality and a close-knit community—you’ll find a welcoming environment ripe with meaningful patient connections, collaborative teams, and the chance to grow professionally in a setting that honors both tradition and progress. This multi-week travel assignment begins November 21, 2025, with a guaranteed 34 hours per week, and offers a competitive weekly pay range of $833 to $891, reflecting your skills, experience, and dedication. For those drawn to service, this is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to impact lives while expanding your clinical perspective across diverse long-term care environments.
Alabama’s Decatur location brings a tapestry of appealing features that enrich both work and life. You’ll operate within communities that value continuity of care, with the chance to build lasting relationships with residents and families. The area offers accessible parks, local dining, and a proud regional culture that celebrates resilience and community support. Beyond Decatur, our traveling program can place you in various long-term care facilities across the United States, exposing you to different care models, resident populations, and facility cultures. This exposure broadens your clinical repertoire—from traditional skilled nursing settings to memory care and post-acute environments—while maintaining a consistent focus on safety, compassion, and excellence. Whether you’re drawn to the scenic riverfront vistas of Decatur, the tranquil neighborhoods that characterize Alabama’s towns, or the opportunity to explore new landscapes through travel assignments, you’ll find experiences that enrich both your professional life and personal growth.
In your day-to-day role, you’ll be at the heart of resident care. As a Licensed Practical Nurse in Long-Term Care, your responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, administering medications in accordance with physician orders and state regulations, and monitoring vital signs and responses to treatments. You’ll support activities of daily living, assist with mobility and rehabilitation exercises as prescribed, and provide wound care or catheter care when needed. You’ll collaborate closely with Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to implement and adjust individualized care plans, ensuring safety, comfort, and quality of life for each resident. Documentation in electronic medical records will be precise and timely, and you’ll participate in rounds and care conferences to advocate for optimal care outcomes. The role offers abundant opportunities for professional growth: you can develop specialized geriatric skills, pursue advanced certifications with employer sponsorship, take on preceptor or lead nurse responsibilities, and influence care delivery through evidence-based practice. Our program supports continued education, skill expansion, and pathways to future advancement within a network of care facilities across the country.
This opportunity comes with a comprehensive package designed to attract and retain dedicated caregivers. In addition to the competitive weekly pay, you’ll be eligible for a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease transition and relocation. We understand the realities of traveling for work, so you’ll have access to extension opportunities—meaning you can extend your assignment beyond the initially scheduled weeks if you and the client facility align on needs and performance. You’ll also benefit from robust support services, including 24/7 assistance from a dedicated travel support team, on-call supervisors, and clinical resources to address any situation that arises on the road or in a facility. You’ll always have a professional network backing you up, ensuring you can focus on delivering exceptional patient care with confidence and peace of mind.
