Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree in a related field or the equivalent is required. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience is required. J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

**THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION**

As a Quality Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards before they are delivered to our customers. This position requires a strong understanding of quality control processes and the ability to work with precision measurement tools. The Quality Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the company's quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform final inspections on machined aerospace components to ensure they meet all customer and industry specifications


• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify product dimensions and tolerances


• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents


• Document and report inspection results, including any non-conformances, ad collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues


• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records for traceability and compliance purposes


• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, AS9100, and other relevant industry regulations


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and inspection processes


• Conduct audits of production processes and finished products to ensure ongoing adherence to quality standards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and equipment


• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawings


• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


• Proficient in using computer software for documentation and reporting (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems)

Salary Note

Combined Salary Range

USD $29.58 - USD $32.44 /Hr.
