Employment Type: Full-Time
Starting Pay: $16.00-$22.00
Purpose of the Position
A Classroom Assistant at Limitless Learning provides high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities across a variety of settings. At Limitless Learning, the Classroom Assistant will primarily provide services in a clinic setting. This position is essential to the success of each child’s treatment plan, as Classroom Assistants implement individualized skill-building programs and behavior reduction strategies daily.
An ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and passionate about helping children grow. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to follow structured treatment protocols are required.
The Classroom Assistant supports the Classroom Leader in creating a structured, engaging, and positive learning environment for children in the clinic. This role focuses on helping students participate in group activities, maintain routines, and build social and behavioral skills throughout the day.
The Classroom Assistant works directly with children during lessons, play-based learning, transitions, and daily classroom routines. This position is essential in helping the Lead Instructor manage the classroom, provide individualized support, and ensure every child remains safe, engaged, and included.
Classroom Assistants model appropriate behavior, encourage participation, and help children follow expectations in a supportive and patient manner. They assist with materials, classroom setup, and transitions while reinforcing skill-building programs designed by the supervising BCBA and Lead Instructor.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in an active environment, and is excited to help kids learn through play and structured activities. Strong teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude are essential, as Classroom Assistants collaborate closely with instructional staff throughout the day.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide small-group ABA therapy using structured teaching, play-based instruction, and natural environment training.
• Implement individualized and group programs targeting communication, social skills, self-help skills, and adaptive behavior as written by the BCBA/supervisor.
• Complete all required trainings, material refreshers, CPR, and in-service trainings as scheduled.
• Report all critical incidents and safety concerns immediately and accurately based on company policy.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings as scheduled or requested.
• Maintain professional communication and represent the clinic positively to families, caregivers, and the community.
• Receive and apply constructive feedback to promote continued growth in clinical skills in a professional manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment at all times.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures outlined in client Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills across all employment documents and modes/platforms.
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance regarding all client information.
• Participate in scheduled RBT performance evaluations based on evaluation schedules.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all applicable ABA intervention strategies.
• Provide coverage during staff shortages to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with special needs (required).
• Must provide three (3) professional references, with no more than one (1) being a relative by blood or marriage.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certificate of completed RBT training required (may be obtained within 2 weeks prior to start date)
• Must maintain BACB certification and complete all other required trainings (CPR, in-service, etc.).
• Strong ability to follow clinical and supervisory instructions, accept feedback, work independently, and complete tasks proactively.
• Experience in behavior management or ABA therapy preferred.
• Must pass all background checks required by state and organizational policy.
Physical & Basic Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift/carry children and adaptive equipment when necessary.
• Ability to maintain various postures (kneeling, squatting, bending, sitting, standing) for extended periods.
• Ability to sit on the floor or stand for long durations, and go back and forth between sitting/standing continually as needed.
• Ability to safely perform quick physical movements as required in behavioral interventions.
• Must be physically present and punctual at assigned work locations based on client schedules.
• Ability to clearly understand, process, and follow detailed communication regarding clients and employment expectations.
• Maintain professional grooming, attire, and appearance at all times.
• Only natural hair coloring allowed.
• No facial piercings allowed for safety reasons.
• Adhere to all safety and health protocols to minimize risk.
• Completion of all RBT/employee onboarding and performance standard requirements within 60 days of employment.
