Pastor of Worship and Equipping

Personal Attributes
This person will be an ordained minister of the Gospel. As a pastor and spiritual leader of the church, he is expected to embody and reflect in his life and ministry the biblical qualifications of a pastor as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
He shall give evidence of a genuine conversion experience and a growing maturity in his Christian life and possess a personal awareness and conviction of a divine call to the Gospel Ministry.
Strengths for the role

Education/Training: A graduate degree from an SBC seminary is preferred. He is expected to have ministry experience in leading congregational worship. It is preferred that he have experience in facilitating discipleship group ministry. He shall possess a working knowledge of congregational worship, spiritual formation through worship, and the ability to equip and lead leaders.
Personal Traits: Prayerful, Humble, Bold, Decisive, Cooperative, and Collaborative. He must possess the ability to see himself and the music ministry as a part of the whole and not a ministry unto itself. He shall possess the heart of a shepherd, the mind of a servant, and the mentality of a leader as he works to honor Christ in all things.

Personal Skill: He should be able to organize, direct, and facilitate the worship ministry by knowing the music in theory and practice. He shall also be able to facilitate discipleship group ministry through the organization, administration, and equipping of leaders. He must be able to communicate clearly and creatively, think strategically with intentionality, and implement wisely with a desire to lead toward spiritual transformation in both worship and discipleship ministry.

Responsibilities

· Worship Ministry
o Assist the church by working alongside the lead pastor to schedule, coordinate and facilitate corporate worship gatherings.
§ To include the organization and leading of volunteer instrumentalists and praise team weekly.
§ To include coordinating with the choir director in regard to the choirs participation in corporate worship through weekly leading along with special music or programs.
o Assist in overseeing the choir ministries of the church (Pre-K, Children, Adult)
o Oversee the following support positions as the direct superior
§ Choir Director
§ IT Director
· Equipping Ministry
o Assist the church in organizing, facilitating, and coordinating Bible Fellowship Groups.
§ Organizing class leadership structure
§ Equipping teachers
§ Annual training emphasis (One or Two Annually)
o Assist the church in overseeing T groups, by equipping leaders, organizing groups, and facilitating discipleship processes.
o Assist the church in overseeing men’s and women’s ministries.
o Assist the church and lead pastor with discovery classes for new members and prospects.
o Provide insight into all aspects of discipleship and equipping.
· Pastoral
o Assist the pastor with hospital and home visitation.
o Assist the pastor with ministry needs.
o Assist the pastor in other duties assigned by the pastor.
