Were seeking a Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in Auburn ME serving middle school students with intellectual disabilities and autism.

This role is ideal for an educator whos passionate about helping adolescents gain independence develop academic and functional skills and prepare for meaningful futures.

What Youll Do

• Provide individualized instruction and support to high school students with a variety of learning and developmental needs.

• Design implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students goals and abilities.

• Collaborate with families school staff and multidisciplinary teams to support academic social and emotional growth.

• Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that promotes confidence participation and progress.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ongoing communication with colleagues and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education

• Valid Maine Special Education Endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)

• Experience working with high school students or transition-age youth with diverse learning needs

• Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills
