Essential Functions:

The networking engineer will primarily handle the design, configuration, implementation, and continued support of our clients growing network infrastructures to ensure optimal networking security and reliability. This specific role is geared towards Fortigate networks.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Speaking confidently with clients and internal technicians as a primary point of escalation for on-premise network issues as the SME.
• Developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures capable of meeting business objectives.
• Scheduling and leading device onboarding to include planning, configuration, and assisting remotely for on-site installation.
• Knowledge and ability to make hardware recommendations for multiple business size solutions.
• Comfortable supporting a myriad of devices to include the following brands: Aruba, Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto, Ruckus, SonicWall, Sophos, Ubiquiti, and FortiNet.
• Leading VPN integration for client locations into Azure, and to support remote workers.
• Maintaining network security, while ensuring maximum uptime with reliable connections.
• Perform network maintenance to include but not limited to scheduling and managing backups and firmware updates, maintaining ACLs, patches, and security configurations.
• Monitor resource utilization to appropriate capacity planning.
• Provide high-quality, high-level support to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST requirements for on-prem.

Required Job Specifications

• US Citizenship is required with the ability to pass an extensive background check.
• Fortigate FCSS or equivalent (NSE 6 & 7)
• Familiarity with the following: SonicWall networks, Fortigate networks, Cisco networks, FIPS encryption standards, VPN implementation, VLAN routing and DUO MFA integration.
• Resolute dedication to unparalleled customer service.
• Ability to work in a team, share knowledge, and communicate effectively.
• Continuous education, expansion, and refinement of technical knowledge, and credibility through industry-standard certifications.
• Fortinet certifications.

Optional/Desired Specifications:

• 5+ years of experience is highly preferred.
• Batchelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Any of the following certifications:
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CCIE certifications
  • Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions
  • Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • MCSE: Core Infrastructure
  • CCNA/CCNP Certifications
