Hospital and Physician Biller
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Hospital and Physician Biller to join our dynamic team in Mobile, AL, 36608. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate billing and coding for our healthcare services, contributing to the financial health of our facility. Responsibilities
- Review and process patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and patients regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and coding practices.
- Assist in the development of billing policies and procedures.
- Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Must have experience with billing in a clearinghouse
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in hospital and physician billing, with a strong understanding of medical coding.
- Familiarity with insurance claims processing and reimbursement methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
