Montgomery Substitute Teacher SY 2025/2026 (Montgomery, AL)

Spur is seeking enthusiastic and approachable leaders to fill substitute teacher positions in Montgomery. Candidates must always act in accordance with the school’s rules and procedures. Position schedules will be based on the school’s standard schedule. With this position, you are able to work every day or pick up jobs when it's convenient for you. New Pay rate of $100 per day, new qualification must have at least 2 years of college.

The duties and requirements for this position are:

• Implementing lesson plans
• Assigning classwork and homework
• Maintaining classroom control and discipline
• Creating daily reports for the classroom teacher
• Taking attendance in accordance with school procedures
• Setting up basic technology equipment to support classroom instructions
• Able to work on an on-call basis
• Prior related experience working with children
• The ability to lift heavy objects up to 40 lbs.
• Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age
• High School diploma or GED - for AIDE / Substitute teacher must have 2 years of college
• Able to pass a ALSDE background check ( $50.00 one-time fee)
• Obtain a Substitute Teaching certificate for substitute teachers only (438.00 one time fee)
• Proficiency in maintaining classroom management and emotional control under stress

Compensation

• This position pays $100.00 per day
• Position schedule will be based on the school’s standard schedule
