Project Finance Manager

Afognak Native Corporation has an opening in the Finance Dept. for a Project Finance Manager (PFM). The PRM is responsible for managing assigned Project Finance Analysts. Duties include:
- Providing pertinent project information to Project Finance Director and other upper management regarding funding, invoicing, PSRs, etc.
- Ensuring assigned Project Finance staff are meeting the needs of the Alutiiq, LLC, (a wholly owned subsidiary of Afognak Native Corp.) Subsidiary customers.
- Overseeing and improving project set up, project cost accrual and revenue recognition activities for assigned Alutiiq, LLC subsidiary customers.
- Managing Project Finance staff at multiple locations.
- Ensuring that revenue recognition is accurate, complete and prepared in accordance with GAAP and consistent with corporate policy.
- Analyzing trends, monitoring detailed billing activity, and performing routine and ad hoc analyses.
The PFM may also be required to perform Project Finance Analyst duties in the event of employee absences or workload surges. When these situations arise, the PFM will assume the following duties for supported projects:
- Utilize government contracting and accounting knowledge to complete reviews and analysis of government contracts.
- Set up projects in the accounting system using contract documents.
- Coordinate with project team to produce financial deliverables for both internal and external use.
- Process revenue recognition and subcontract accruals for assigned projects.
- Provide cost and schedule updates.
- Perform Estimates at Completion (EACs) for management analysis.
When performing analyst activities:
- The PFM provides direct support to management and other project team members and advises project management on financial matters related to the execution of contracts and task orders.
- Specific assignment will include monitoring project cost in conjunction with schedule performance and performing related analyses.
- Provide input for management review presentations and participates in proposal preparation, interfaces with members of Corporate Finance and Accounting, Contracts, Pricing, and Procurement consultants, and subsidiary management at all levels.
- The PFM will work in both virtual and office team environments.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, program management, accounting, or an appropriate related discipline (additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree).
- Knowledge of business operations and procedures
- Outstanding research and analytical abilities
- Minimum of 7 Years in Project Accounting and Control or Related Accounting Field
- Demonstrated knowledge of general accepted accounting practices (GAAP)
- Comprehensive understanding of multiple contract types: FFP, FPLOE, T&M and hybrid contracts.
- Government contract accounting experience preferred.
- Technology experience:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel, as well as other database software is required.
- Experience with Deltek CostPoint preferred.
