Come join the IMAX Theater team at McWane Science Center this holiday season! The temporary, part-time IMAX Theater Associate is responsible for supporting daily operations and guest service within McWane Science Center’s concessions and theater host areas with cross-training in seasonal holiday responsibilities operating the indoor zipline and indoor riding train.

Position will generally be scheduled for 3 shifts per week (~ 20 hours) including some evenings until 8PM.

The position will begin mid-November and end on January 4, 2026.

Accountabilities and Major Duties
1. Welcome and greet each visitor with enthusiasm. Answer visitor questions in a courteous and helpful manner.
2. Run all safety and cleaning inspections at concessions according to established procedures at the beginning and end of each shift. Report any problems or concerns to your supervisor.
3. Ensure that the concessions area is well-stocked and cleaned appropriately per Health Department standards at the end of each shift. Communicate with department head any items that need to be ordered or repaired.
4. Accurately process cash and credit card transactions in a timely manner. Maintain a balanced cash drawer.
5. Follow established procedures for operating the indoor zipline and indoor riding train.
6. Assist in the general housekeeping of all areas of the IMAX Theater and concessions area and holiday exhibit area.
7. Follow established procedures for emergency evacuation in a timely and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Minimum 18 years of age.
2. Customer service experience.
3. Friendly, outgoing personality.
4. Ability to effectively communicate with various groups and age levels.
5. Ability to work with a variety of people including visitors, staff, volunteers and service personnel.
6. Flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends.
7. Six (6) months of cash handling experience.
8. Ability to properly count down and balance a cash drawer in a timely manner.
9. Possess non-expired national or county issued food safety certification or obtain no later than 2 weeks after hire date.

Minimum Physical Qualifications
1. Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
2. Hearing/visual acuity.
3. Ability to climb stairs/ladders.
4. Ability to bend at the waist.
5. Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50lbs.
6. Ability to pull and push heavy doors.
7. Manual dexterity.
8. Ability to use a computer.
