Jackson Hospital is a community-based not-for-profit hospital serving Montgomery, Alabama, and the Alabama River Region. For 80 years, Jackson Hospital has been committed to improving the health of the people it serves by providing superior patient-centered and cost-effective care in a safe, compassionate environment.

The Hospital’s history is integral to the history of medicine in Central Alabama. Its origins date back to 1894 when Watkins Infirmary received its first patients at the Hospital’s present location. In September 1946, five physicians, including the Hospital’s namesake, Dr. Benjamin Franklin Jackson, opened Jackson Hospital with 37 patient beds. Today, the Hospital is licensed for 344 beds. Services include cardiac, cancer, neurosciences, orthopedics, and women’s and children’s care, along with 24-hour emergency services. It ranks among the largest hospitals in Alabama and is recognized for providing excellence in care.

The Jackson Hospital Foundation is a key fundraising partner of the Hospital. The Foundation is committed to improving the healthcare of people in the Alabama River Region of central Alabama by raising charitable contributions to support Hospital-based projects that contribute to excellence in patient care. With assets of over $3 million, the Foundation is a key fundraising partner for vital community resources. It is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, who are leaders in the Montgomery community and Central Alabama.

The President leads the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support Jackson Hospital’s mission and strategic priorities. Working closely with the Hospital’s President and CEO, the Foundation Board, and Hospital leadership, this role builds strong community partnerships, cultivates major donors, and provides leadership to the Foundation staff to achieve philanthropic goals.

The President leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support Jackson Hospital, including major gifts, capital campaigns, annual giving, grants, planned giving, and community-based initiatives. Working closely with the Foundation Board, the Hospital’s President and CEO, and senior leadership, this role identifies philanthropic priorities and builds strong relationships with donors, corporations, and community partners. The President also oversees foundation staff, events, and board activities while serving as a key ambassador for Jackson Hospital within the community.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of senior-level fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in developing comprehensive fundraising strategies, leading major gift programs, and designing and implementing capital campaigns. The position requires strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals, board members, donors, and community partners while embracing the Hospital’s mission and values.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience.
