Psychometric Rater
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and score psychometric assessments, scales, and questionnaires to clinical trial participants according to study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of psychometric data collection, maintaining strict adherence to standardized administration procedures.
- Maintain certification and proficiency in all required psychometric rating scales and tools.
- Observe and assess participant behavior, mood, and cognitive function during assessments, documenting observations accurately and objectively.
- Identify and report any adverse events or significant changes in participant condition to the Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub Investigator in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all assessment data in source documents and electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with study participants, ensuring their comfort and understanding during assessments.
- Collaborate closely with the PI, Sub Investigator, and the rest of the clinical research team to ensure smooth study conduct.
- Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and inspections as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all participant and study-related information.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or a related healthcare field from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience (e.g., 1-3 years) in administering psychometric assessments in a clinical research or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial processes and the importance of data quality and integrity.
- Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and other relevant ethical and regulatory requirements for clinical research.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse participant populations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow complex protocols and standardized procedures precisely.
- Strong observational skills and ability to document findings objectively.
- Familiarity with electronic data capture (EDC) systems is a plus.
- Commitment to ethical conduct and participant well-being.
- May require specific rater certifications for certain scales or therapeutic areas (e.g., ADAS-Cog, HAM-D, PANSS).
Location:
This position requires rater travel to the location of the study/program participant/patient. Travel may be local or across state lines based on licensure to practice.
