Human Resources Generalist
Make an Impact Where It Matters
NHS Management is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our corporate team in Tuscaloosa. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a meaningful role supporting leaders across a growing long-term care organization.
You won’t just process paperwork — you’ll help shape the employee experience across multiple skilled nursing facilities and corporate departments.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as an HR partner to facility and corporate leadership
- Support employee relations, coaching leaders on performance, investigations, and policy interpretation
- Manage onboarding, employee lifecycle changes, and offboarding processes
- Assist with HR compliance including FMLA, ADA, leaves, and regulatory requirements
- Support recruiting operations in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team
- Maintain accurate HRIS data and documentation
- Help drive HR initiatives including engagement, retention, and leadership development
- Assist with policy updates, audits, and process improvement
- Support multi-site HR needs across NHS Management facilities
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of HR experience (healthcare or multi-site preferred)
- Strong employee relations experience
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- HRIS experience required (UKG experience strongly preferred)
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
- PHR / SHRM-CP preferred but not required
