Job description

• The Technician is responsible for performing jobs in the shop and field. Work involves servicing and repairing agricultural equipment/implements, mowers, hay equipment and other related equipment. Extensive on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and online training must be successfully completed to remain in the technician training program. The technician will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. The technician will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance allows.
  Essential Job Functions
  • Adheres to and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures
  • Plans and performs repairs using correct tools and procedures
  • Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner
  • Ability to perform the following tasks on basic components in work area including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments
  • Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance service according to factory guidelines
  • Demonstrates proper use of service information systems
  • Works independently in the field as required
  
  
• Repair and maintain tractors, hay equipment, agricultural equipment, and other related vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose, replace and repair ag equipment in the field
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, improve and promote quality, and monitor own work to ensure quality
• Observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
• Workorder completeness – All work orders are completed according to the work instruction provided by your leadership team.
• Service truck maintenance – ensuring your service truck has all preventative maintenance completed in a timely manner.
• Contribute to building a positive team attitude with other departments in the organization.
• Work with integrity, always upholding company values.
• Perform related responsibilities/accountabilities as required or directed.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work is normally performed in a Service Department shop or on location of customer job sites. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time is often required.

• Ag mechanic experience or education
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Accurately diagnose and complete repairs in an efficient and timely manner
• Ability to use basic computer functions
• Must take and pass employer paid drug test and background check
• Must have license to operate a motor vehicle
