Tommy’s Express Car Wash is hiring a Shift Leader or Full-time Team Member who loves leading people, driving sales, and creating an unforgettable guest experience. Why this role is exciting:
As a Shift Leader, you are the on-duty captain of the wash. You will lead a small team, own the sales results for your shift, and directly impact how guests feel every time they visit. If you enjoy coaching others, hitting goals, and keeping operations tight and efficient, this role puts you at the center of the action.
Schedule:
· Team Member - Full-time (opening shift)- 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
· Shift Leader - Full-time (closing shift) - Sunday, 11:45 AM to 7:45 PM, Monday, 10:00 AM to 7:45 PM, and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, 2:30 PM to 7:45 PM (closing shift). 30 - 38 hours weekly.
· Shift Leader - Part-time (various shifts) - Sunday, 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Various weekday closing shifts 3:00 PM to 7:45 PM.
What you’ll lead and own
Sales Leadership
- Actively sell Unlimited Club memberships and premium wash upgrades with confidence and enthusiasm.
- Coach team members on upselling techniques and best practices for guest interactions so they feel confident selling as well.
- Track sales performance during your shift, set mini-goals, and keep the team focused on hitting targets.
- Celebrate wins, run quick contests, and create a fun, competitive, sales-driven culture.
Employee Training & Development
- Train new hires and upskill current team members on sales, service, and safety basics.
- Use role-playing and real-time feedback to sharpen guest-greeting, offer, and closing skills.
- Lead by example with positive, professional, high-energy guest engagement that builds loyalty.
- Reinforce Tommy’s Express standards of service, appearance, and hospitality on every shift.
Shift Operations
- Lead the team to deliver safe, fast, and smooth site operations throughout your shift.
- Monitor equipment, tunnel flow, cleanliness, and lot appearance; jump in where needed to keep things moving.
- Assign tasks, adjust positioning and breaks, and hold team members accountable for performance and standards.
- Support the Site Leader with daily reporting, communication, and follow-up on action items.
What makes you a great fit
- 1–2 years in a sales-focused or leadership role (retail, QSR, hospitality, or similar).
- Previous keyholder or shift lead experience, comfortable opening/closing and taking ownership.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and motivate others to do the same.
- Experience coaching or training team members is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and a calm, positive presence under pressure.
